Scorzalite
Description
ScorzalitezIn 2009 some very impressive and attractive specimens of Scorzalite were found at the Estano Orcko mine in Bolivia. For some time, these specimens were thought to be Lazulite, but I was actually the one who first reported (through analysis) that they are indeed Scorazlite (the iron analogue of Lazulite). For the size, luster and overall quality of the crystals, they are certainly some of the best Scorzalites to hit the market in a very long time.
A great quality specimen for somebody looking to own a rare and attractive "black" mineral
Specimen # BOL711B204
The lower half of the crystal is WATER-CLEAR and would easily yield a tremendous and valuable faceted stone
The quality is superb
The piece displays nicely
Many collectors and dealers alike treasure this species for its immense scarcity and immeasurable combination of form and color
black to very dark golden colored cyclic twinned crystal group which is associated with small acicular crystals of rarely seen greenish-brown Tourmaline
It’s such a unique color combination and displays beautifully as you can see from the photos
Certainly a unique and worthwhile specimen for a collector of Bolivian minerals or rare phosphates
excellent quality
This is a wonderful thumbnail specimen featuring a striking doubly-terminated 7 mm crystal of Brookite that is gracefully set among sharp
and there is no time to stop to collect minerals
