Instituted on 24th August 1831

The Atlantic Star was awarded to British and Commonwealth service personnel who served in the Battle of the Atlantic during the Second World War — the longest continuous military campaign of the conflict

The "NON ARTICLE FIVE" medal will be issued once to recognize all service in the Balkans

Following reforms in 1993

the Bronze Albert Medal was awarded for numerous acts of remarkable courage and self-sacrifice

"WE SHALL NEVER SURRENDER"

Enamelled finished complete with torpedo fittings

When the star is worn with the bar

instead each allied country issued its own victory medal using the same ribbon and an effigy of the figure of Victory - except Japan who used a traditional Samurai Warrior
