Colors Of DawnEarly morning in the Eastern Sierras brings a wonderful array of colors and moods

The title of this image is literal

It rare for me to go shoot without a specific subject in mind

These lone trees live a battered life amongst the bears in Glacier National Park

Dawn frequently breaks with wild colors over the Alabama Hills of California thanks to the nearby Sierra Nevada mountains and their effect on the weather

and I was fortunate to capture some nice light here

But I did manage to get a few frames before the last of the color faded

Volcanic rocks withstand the incessant pounding of waves on the Icelandic coast

Unfortunately for me

the atmosphere carried the day

The large telescopes at the Mauna Kea observatory on Hawaii peer deep into space looking for the origins of the universe

Violent storms in the Colorado Rockies create some amazing shooting conditions

I was fortunate to experience this place in all it's beauty many times before it was lost forever
